Pursuing Development behind Heterogeneous Ideologies: Review of Six Evolving Themes and Narratives of Rural Planning in China

Rural planning is in a state of flux, covering range topics. The objectives have evolved over the years. To get an overview evolving themes and narratives on rural China, literature review conducted here using text mining considering 145 papers published Web Science. Attention given to trends time terms topics covered. Six are revealed, namely: providing affordable decent life under industrialization urbanization progress, national ecological programs practices, building new (socialist) countryside rural?urban relationship planning, land restructuring, tourism activities, other themes. It highlighted that strategies knowledge “development” common instructional epistemology among agro-industrialism, agro-ruralism, scientific rationalism, “economy oriented” humanism.
